Privacy Policy
Track Wars is built to be played without an account. This page explains the small amount of data the game does handle, why, and how to remove it. Last updated: 10 August 2026.
Playing the game
- Racer name, car and colour. You choose a display name to race under. It's shown to other players and appears on the public leaderboards alongside your lap times and race results. Names aren't verified and don't have to identify you – pick anything you like.
- Lap times and race results. Best laps are stored on our server so the leaderboards work. They're linked only to your chosen racer name.
- Device storage. Your preferences (name, car, colour, sound and haptics settings, unlocks, name-claim tokens) are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. We can't read them from anywhere else, and clearing your browser data removes them.
- Technical data. Like any online service, our game server sees your IP address while you're connected. We use it to run the game and to rate-limit abuse; we don't build profiles from it.
Claiming a racer name (optional)
You can optionally reserve your racer name with an email address. If you do:
- We store the email address linked to that name on our server, and use it for exactly one purpose: sending you a verification code when you (or someone claiming to be you) wants to use the name on a new device.
- Verification emails are delivered by Resend, our email provider, which processes the address to send the message.
- We never show the email to other players, never use it for marketing, and never share or sell it.
- Deleting it: open the claim dialog for your name in the game and choose "Release this name" – this deletes the claim and the stored email immediately. You can also email us (address below) and we'll remove it.
If you never claim a name, we never ask for – or store – any contact information about you.
Website analytics
The trackwars.io website uses Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (visits, pages, rough geography). Google may set cookies for this. See Google's privacy policy for how they handle it.
Our iOS and Android apps contain no analytics or tracking SDKs at all – the analytics snippet is stripped from app builds. The only network traffic from the apps is the gameplay itself (game server connection, billboard images, music).
In-game billboards
The trackside billboards are sold directly by us and served from our own server. There is no third-party ad network in the game: no ad-tech cookies, no behavioural targeting, no bidding. We count aggregate impressions and clicks per campaign; those counts aren't linked to individual players.
Advertisers
If you buy billboard space via the advertise page, payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which handles your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We store your campaign details (creative, placement, contact email for managing the campaign).
Children
Track Wars is a general-audience game. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children – playing requires no personal information at all, and name claims are optional and email-only.
Changes & contact
If our data practices change, we'll update this page. Questions or removal requests: hello@trackwars.io.
