About Track Wars
Track Wars is a free, massively multiplayer online (MMO) arcade racing game that runs entirely in your web browser. There's no download, no launcher and no account - you type a name, pick a car and you're on the track with everyone else within seconds.
Most online racing games put you in a small, private lobby: eight or sixteen cars, a countdown, a race, then back to a menu. Track Wars throws that structure out. Instead there is one persistent world - a single figure‑8 circuit that is always live - and every player who joins drops straight into it alongside everyone else already driving. Nobody waits in a menu, because the race never really stops.
How it works
The whole game is built around a single authoritative server that simulates the track in real time. Your browser predicts your own car locally so steering feels instant, while the server keeps every racer honest and in sync. That is what lets hundreds of cars share the same tarmac without the chaos turning into rubber‑banding soup.
- One track, always on. A figure‑8 with a bridge and a tunnel where the loops cross, so cars pass over and under each other.
- Jump in instantly. No lobby, no matchmaking queue. The world is already running when you arrive.
- Bots fill the grid. AI racers keep the track busy at quiet hours, so there's always a field to fight through.
- Plays on anything. Desktop keyboard, or phone/tablet with on‑screen touch controls. Same track, cross‑platform.
Game modes & features
Free‑roam fastest lap
At any moment you can simply drive and chase a faster lap time. Your best lap goes on the leaderboard - a low‑pressure way to learn the circuit and tune your line.
Sprint races
On an automatic cycle the world locks into a sprint race: a countdown, a five‑light start sequence, then a multi‑lap dash with live F1‑style positions. Everyone currently on the track is entered, so grids can be huge.
King of the Track
Win a sprint race and you're crowned King of the Track, wearing the crown until the next race decides a new winner. It's a persistent bragging‑rights title that any racer - human or bot - can hold, and that anyone can take from you.
Power‑ups, oil slicks & mines
Pickups scattered around the circuit give you nitro boosts and shields. You can drop oil slicks to spin out the car behind you, and each racer starts a sprint with a handful of mines to launch rivals skyward. Boost is universal - hold it to blow past the pack, then wait for it to recharge.
Controls
Keyboard: Arrow keys or WASD to drive, Shift to boost, Space to drift, M to drop a mine, C to cycle camera, R to respawn.
Touch: a floating joystick on the left steers and controls gas/brake; boost, drift, mine and respawn buttons sit on the right.
